Beat Konducta, aka Madlib, e cioè Mind Altering Demented Lessons In Beats, ovvero Otis Jackson Jr., che sarebbe anche Quasimoto e metà Madvillain, ormai è ai livelli di Merzbow o Sun Ra: nel 2010, per la serie “Medicine Show”, farà uscire un album al mese. Il gioco è il solito: saccheggia tonnellate di vinili più o meno conosciuti di un certo paese o continente e poi ci fa un disco con 30/40 pezzi di collage & hip-hop strumentale. E’ appena uscito il terzo volume: Madlib Medicine Show #3: Beat Konducta in Africa, dove oltre all’ovvio afro-beat spuntano fuori anche cose meno definibili.

Il mio preferito però è un disco più vecchio, Beat Konducta in India, del 2007: Bollywood, sitar e tablas, ma anche Ennio Morricone. Sublime tamarrata, oro puro.
